Dogecoin to Erase a Zero? Deep Holder Losses Set the Stage for a Short-Term Price Move

Dogecoin (DOGE) price in focus as deep holder losses spark hopes for a near-term recovery. Dogecoin (DOGE) 365-day MVRV is near 0.74 (average loss for recent holders), according to Santiment.

MVRV helps to show if recent buyers are sitting on excessive profits or painful losses. High MVRV can be a warning that profit-taking risk is building up, while low MVRV can signal areas where selling pressure is closer to exhaustion. Traders can use those extremes to judge risk and crowd positioning rather than relying on price alone.

This MVRV opportunity arises as Dogecoin rebounds alongside the broader crypto markets as investors await fresh data for insights ahead of next week's Federal Reserve interest rate decision.

At the time of writing, Dogecoin was up 3.38% in the last 24 hours to $0.0819 after reaching an intraday high of $0.082 following yesterday's sharp surge.

In the short term, traders will be looking for evidence that DOGE can establish support and build on the current recovery. In this scenario, a run-up to $0.10 is ultimately expected, achieving a double-digit cent price but bulls will have to surmount key resistance levels at $0.087 and $0.088 at the daily MA 200 and 50, respectively.

Dogecoin Labs launches

Dogecoin Labs is being formed by the teams behind the Dogecoin wallet, an application network, and merchant payment tools, with the goal of providing DOGE holders with more locations to spend and utilize their coins.

Dogecoin Labs, which was formed in partnership with the Dogecoin Foundation, announced in a recent release that it will own and operate MyDoge, DogeOS and Such App.

The company will concentrate on broadening the utility of Dogecoin through consumer applications, payments, commerce, DeFi, gaming and other goods, while the Foundation will continue to be responsible for ecosystem stewardship and open-source development.

The announcement comes at a time when Dogecoin's foray into traditional finance has failed to spark enduring investor interest, with Bitwise about to shut down its Dogecoin ETF.
