BIT Partners with AMINA to Expand Switzerland's Digital Asset Market

Hong Kong, November 2, 2026 — During Hong Kong Fintech Week, BIT (formerly Matrixport), a global digital asset financial services group, and AMINA (Hong Kong) Limited, a subsidiary of AMINA Bank AG regulated by the Swiss Financial Market Supervisory Authority (FINMA), jointly hosted the "AMINA Unites × BIT" high-end networking event at The Upper House in Hong Kong. The event brought together representatives from financial institutions, asset management companies, family offices, and the digital asset industry to jointly explore the development trends of the digital asset market and new opportunities for institutional investment.

Set against the backdrop of Hong Kong's city skyline, the event provided a platform for in-depth exchange among industry representatives from traditional finance and the digital asset sector, with discussions centered on two core topics: How are financial institutions reshaping the digital asset market? And how will digital assets transform institutional investment portfolios?

New Developments in the Institutional Digital Asset Market

As digital asset regulatory frameworks in major global financial centers mature, institutional-grade custody infrastructure continues to improve, and institutional investors' demand for regulated digital asset investment products continues to grow, digital assets are gradually integrating into the traditional financial system. These trends also became key points of discussion among guests at the evening's event.

Among them, an important recent development in Switzerland's digital asset regulatory field attracted considerable attention. The Swiss Financial Market Supervisory Authority (FINMA) approved the Bitcoin Fund ETF (ticker: BBIT). As Switzerland's first exchange-traded fund (ETF) that directly invests in Bitcoin, BBIT is also currently the only spot Bitcoin ETF in Europe. Unlike traditional exchange-traded products (ETPs), BBIT adopts a Swiss collective investment scheme structure, with fund assets legally segregated from the fund management company, providing investors with asset protection mechanisms under Switzerland's existing fund regulatory framework while avoiding the issuer credit risk associated with debt-type products.

Cynthia Wu, Founding Partner and Chief Commercial Officer of BIT, stated:

"FINMA's approval of BBIT is an important milestone in BIT's development journey and a significant advancement in Switzerland's institutional digital asset investment sector. We believe that for institutional investors, where assets are held, what legal structure is adopted, and what regulatory framework they are subject to are becoming increasingly important. BBIT combines these key elements through a Swiss-domiciled investment fund structure with asset segregation custody mechanisms, physical BTC subscription arrangements, and investment channels in traditional financial markets. This also reflects our long-term commitment to connecting traditional finance with the digital asset market. By partnering with AMINA, combining BIT's asset management capabilities with the advantages of Swiss bank custody services, we will be committed to expanding more investment directions for institutional investors."

During the event, guests also exchanged views on the integration trends of institutional capital and Web3 innovation in major financial centers such as Hong Kong and Switzerland. As regulated fund structures and institutional-grade custody infrastructure continue to develop, institutional participation in the digital asset market is gradually moving from early-stage investment exploration toward a new phase that places greater emphasis on compliance, risk management, and long-term value.
